This is a special programme organised by the Agency. Every Wednesday, between 10am and 3pm, staff from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and National Food and drug control agency (NAFDAC) come to our office and attend to our clients. They assist them with Company registrations and other problems they may encounter with these agencies. They are attended to and educated on the need for legal businesses.
Mentoring
Suitable mentors are linked with start-ups to encourage them and help them become successful.
Outreach services
As a poverty reduction institution, one of the programmes we have to tackle is the Business Outreach service.
AEA reaches the people in the grassroots in the FCT through its Outreach services, which mainly consists of empowerment for women, and the underrepresented in society.
The goal is the production of a critical mass of grassroots entrepreneurs who will change the economic environment at the community level.
The specific objectives are to create economic activities and employment opportunities at the grassroots; create a knowledgeable civil society for the reduction of the scourge of disease and apathy; and establish self-confidence in the society at the grassroots.
Counselling
This is when entrepreneurs come in and have a one-on-one counselling session with our Business Development Officers. In these sessions, training needs are identified as well as any other problems with the product/service, marketing or financials. These sessions also allow us to know our clients better and see if they are true entrepreneurs.
To date, we have counselled 512 people in over 3,000 sessions
